These are the three 7 year covenants between the prince of the people who destroyed Jerusalem and the sanctuary in the year 70 AD. and many nations including Israel:
The first of 3 seven year covenants
The second of 3 seven year covenants
The third of 3 seven year covenants
According to the prophet Daniel in chapter 9:26-27 this prince comes out of the Roman Empire. However, the Roman Empire doesn't exist today. In it's place is the European Union.
In Matthew 24:15 Jesus says, "When you see the abomination spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing where it aught not be, flee to the mountains..."
So what is he talking about? In Daniel there are 3 times the angel of the Lord gives him prophecy concerning the abomination of desolation. The first time is in Daniel 8 where the little horn sets up the abomination of desolation.
The second time is in Daniel 9 where the prince of the people who destroyed the city and the sanctuary confirms the covenant for 7 years . He then, in the midst of the week, causes the sacrifice and oblation to cease and for the overspreading of abomination makes it desolate...
Notice the difference here. In chapter 8 the little horn dose the dirty deed while in chapter 9 the prince causes the dirty deed.
If we look at chapter 11 we see that there is a king of the north who gets help to set up the abomination.
